You are an idiot, yes that’s right you the reader right now reading this line, you are definitely an idiot. Now before that little tea kettle you call a head begins to spew a nonsensical rant please be assured that I don’t care because you are still an idiot. How can I identify you as an idiot without even knowing who you are? Well it’s called statistics and with amount of people on this planet odds are you are an idiot.

Now don’t confuse being an idiot with being stupid because you see an idiot has a chance to redeem themselves where a stupid person will be stupid forever. Again this is statistics and if you haven’t figured it out yet, it is better to be an idiot than stupid. Of course worse case scenario you are an stupid idiot and unfortunately you probably don’t stand a chance in hell of redemption much less living for very long as you will more likely than not self destruct very soon.

In the olden days way back in time there was what was known as the village idiot. They were at first few and far between but each village or town had one and they were either ignored or dismissed because they seemed to pursue an idle lifestyle that rarely affected the general populous. But those villages and towns became large cities that produced more idiots and the variety increased to include vocal idiots. As time passed the vocal idiots gained an audience, not because what they spewed was of any importance but because there was a never ending steam of mouth moving noise that seemed to mesmerize the less informed individuals close enough to hear. And then the Internet came along and every street corner idiot had for the taking a global audience hungry for more stuff these idiots were spewing. The idiot was happy to provide more stuff and soon other idiots joined in the worldwide noise and the Global Village Idiot was born.

The Global Village Idiot is no longer a rare breed and in fact there are many more than you would believe possible in a modern society.  You can identify the Global Village Idiot by their ability to talk at length about any subject, whether or not they have any facts or personal experience with what they are talking about.  These Global Village Idiots have parasitic companions better known as an audience.  This audience are people who have never been able to form an opinion on their own so they find comfort in the misinformation the Global Village Idiot spouts.  They believe that anyone who can speak and write (that’s right the Global Village Idiots also write articles and books) at such length they must know the truth even thought some of what they hear doesn’t always ring true.  This in turn make them Global Village Idiots also.

A vicious circle that has taken on a life of it’s own because it no longer encompasses only individuals but entire groups of people, government, companies, and unfortunately news organizations.

The Global Village Idiots words have become more important than the truth and the only reason they thrive is because you let them.
